Never Overload

One of the most important things to bear in mind is that you should never overload your washing machine. It is easy to overfill a washing machine because you assume that you might as well wash it all at the same time. However when in the machine clothes need space to move around in order to get clean.

Hang don’t tumble

Once you have washed your clothes try and avoid a tumble dryer if you can. Not only are these costly to run, but they don’t do your clothes any favours. By hanging out your washing to try on a washing line or on a clothes dryer you are giving a chance for the creases in your clothes to drop out naturally so ironing is automatically made easier.

Iron when damp

Most people leave their clothes to dry before they iron them. Whilst this is correct you should avoid clothes becoming over dry. If you can iron them when they are just very slightly damp then you will find that the creases will come out much easier, so you don’t have to worry about the hard work that ironing usually is!

One final tip

Another great tip is to remove clothes from the washing machine as soon as they are done. We are all guilty of leaving clothes in the machine too long however this simply gives your clothes the chance to develop creases – which you’ll have to iron out later!
